The Methodist Church exists to - :

  • provide worship of God which is meaningful for a wide variety of people
  • promote and encourage development in Christian living for all age groups through worship and by providing occasions for fellowship which give mutual encouragement, support and opportunities for learning which lead to growth in the Christian life.
  • demonstrate God’s love and care as exemplified in Jesus, through our relationship with each other and by expressing His loving concern and action in the community in which we live and the wider world.
  • discover the quality of life which is in keeping with the Gospel truths and to be instruments for change to make that quality of life possible for ourselves and others.
  • share the Gospel declared in Jesus with others, in such a way that they respond to Him and are drawn into the family of the Church.
  • share wherever possible, with other churches in the area, these tasks.
