PEACEMAKERS

The evening service on 10th March will centre on the story of Malala, the young Pakistani girl who was prepared to risk her life for her beliefs.  In this informal café service we will think about what it meant to be the peacemaker and consider the risk we might be prepared to make to share our faith.

YOUR CHURCH NEEDS YOU!

The congregation’s attention in drawn to  Church Council’s concern over the future of our church and the number of volunteers who have or would like to resign from the various roles within the church.  Despite appeals very few people have come forward to take their place.  We need Pastoral Visitors, Stewards, a Property Steward, Booking Secretary, Projectionists to name a few.  One vacancy has been filled – Valerie Doodson has succeeded Elizabeth Delasalle and is now the new Gift Aid Secretary.

Church Council therefore decided at its recent meeting that a small group get together to consider the possibility of employing a Church Administrator and what tasks that person could take on.  Jim will lead this group and appealed to the congregation for volunteers to come forward to join him.  Please speak to Jim if you feel able to help.

MERSEYSIDE FOR ROMANIA

If you have goods for Romania, I can take them now.  Clothing and shoes for all ages, towels and bedding, toiletries and serviceable pots, pans etc. are always needed.  You can bring things to church or to my house – 29 Springfield Avenue, or ring me for collection.

At this time of year we also collect £500 for Father Constantine’s feeding scheme for the many poor in his town.  It would be helpful to me if donations were in envelopes with your name on!  Cheques may be made out to “Merseyside for Romania”. Thank you for your generosity.
