ACTION FOR CHILDREN

As in previous years, Christmas is the time we focus on the fund-raising for this charity that has been partnered with the Methodist Church since 1969.  A large Communal Christmas Card is in the foyer for the congregation to send Christmas wishes to each other.

DONATIONS TO WIRRAL FOODBANK

All donations placed in the boxes in the foyer now go to the Wirral Foodbank.  However, we will have to bag up our donations and take them either to Wirral Foodbank, Unit 14, Wirral Business Centre, Dock Road, Birkenhead, CH41 1JW or they may be dropped off at Tesco Heswall or Sainsburys Upton.

I am sure there are members of the congregation who shop in one or other of these supermarkets and could do their bit to help by filling up some bags and take them to the collection boxes in one of these supermarkets. With Christmas fast approaching donations need to be received by midday on Thursday, 20th December.

GIFT SERVICE

This year’s gift service will on Sunday morning 9th December.  All the gifts will go to local young people between the ages of 16 and 21 through the “Leaving Care Team” in Wallasey.  Suggestions for gifts are:

Bobble hats, gloves, scarves, socks, toiletries, gift sets, shower gel, shampoo, sweets, chocolates

and gift vouchers. Please no CDs or tights.

Gifts should be new and left unwrapped, but Christmas wrapping paper to go with each gift would be appreciated.

REVISED JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Church has been advertising for a member to act as Secretary for the Gift Aid & Weekly Envelopes Schemes.  We are now fortunate in that a member has volunteered to deal with the computer aspects of the job.  This means that the job as Secretary is “doable” by an individual with little or even no specialist technical skills Elizabeth (0151 625 6018) would be pleased to discuss the job description with anyone who would like further details.  A volunteer is needed from 1st January 2109.
