FLOWERS

CHURCH FAMILY

A reminder that Doris Carr’s funeral will be on Friday, 31st May at 11.30 a.m. at Landican for family only.  This will be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving here at 12.30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served in the Hall after the Service of Thanksgiving.  All who knew Doris are warmly invited to the Service of Thanksgiving.

HOPE FROM ABOVE

Some of you will remember meeting Carole & Tim Derbyshire who are friends of Carole & John Barnett.  They spoke about the work of “Hope from Above”, a Christian charity based in Australia.  They use ground-breaking technology to assist organisations who take the Gospel to some of the most isolated communities of the world.

The Barnetts invite you to come on Tuesday, 28th May at 2.30 p.m. in Room 1 and hear about some of the amazing equipment being used or developed in order that people may hear the Good News for themselves.  Tea and cakes to follow.

WEDNESDAY WORSHIP AT THINGWALL

There will be no service at the Wirral Methodist Centre on Wednesday, 29th May.  The next service will be on Wednesday, 5th June at 1 p.m. when Jackie Bellfield will be leading a traditional act of worship.

THE BEACON

Pick up your copy of the latest edition of The Beacon from the foyer and take one for anyone who may be interested.  Would Pastoral Visitors please pick up copies for anyone on their list who is not able to get to church.

CIRCUIT PRAYER DIARY

Copies of the Prayer Diary for June are now available.  Please pick up a copy from the foyer.

CIRCUIT PLAN

Copies of the next Circuit Plan for the three months beginning 2nd June are now available in the foyer together with the May edition of “Good News”.

PLAN OF SERVICES AT WEST KIRBY

Copies of the plan of services to be held at West Kirby over the three months commencing 2nd June are also available from the foyer.

CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT

The next meeting will be on Thursday, 6th June from 12 noon until 2 p.m. when the speaker will be from Helplink – a service based in Irby offering help, mainly with transport.  As always anyone with current or recent caring experience is very welcome.

FRIDAY COFFEE MORNING ROTA

Please sign the new sheet in the foyer if you can help serve coffee and wash up on a Friday morning during the three months commencing 7th June.

LEGO CHURCH

If anyone has any unwanted Lego hidden in a loft or the like and would like to donate this to our new Lego Church initiative, please can you let Dirk know asap on 625 3224 or 07847 739 533.  He will gladly collect it from your house, however small or large.  The first Lego session attracted 22 children plus 18 adults, including helpers.  The next session is on Wednesday, 12th June.  Please pray for us as we establish this new WKMC initiative.

SONGS OF PRAISE

The morning service on 16th June will be a Songs of Praise Service.  Have you a favourite hymn plus a story to go with it?  If so, we’d love to receive your contribution to this service.  If you are happy to tell the story yourself that will be great, but don’t be put off – if you would rather not, then someone will read your contribution for you.  Please let Catherine Jackson or Graham Gladden know by 2nd June so they will have time to plan the service.

FLOWER FESTIVAL

Irby Methodist Church are celebrating 150 years of Methodism in Irby.  To mark the occasion they will be holding a Flower Festival 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on 7th & 8th June and1-4 p.m. on 9th June. Souvenir Programme £3 (includes tea/coffee) Lunches from 12.30 p.m. £2.50
