CONGRATULATIONS

Valerie Doodson and David Gane would like to thank the Church family for all the good wishes received following their recent engagement.

Looking ahead we are happy to announce that our wedding will take place during the morning service on Sunday, 15th December. Rev George Palmer will be taking the service, assisted by Rev Viv Gasteen as Registrar. Following the service the Church family are invited to join us in the Church Hall for some celebratory cake(s) with the usual tea and/or coffee.  We are looking forward to seeing you there.

PLAN OF SERVICES

Copies of both the new Circuit Plan and details of services at West Kirby for the three months commencing 1st December are now available from the table in the foyer.

SHOEBOX APPEAL

The warehouse this year is the same as last year - Unit 76, Woodside Business Park, Shore Road, Birkenhead, CH41 1EP.

We will be checking boxes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the end of November.  Anyone wishing to help will be most welcome.

The next Singing Café at St. Luke’s, Hoylake is on Thursday, 21st November from 10.30 a.m.  All welcome.

ECUMENICAL & INTERRELIGOUS RELATIONS – SOME REFLECTIONS

All the churches in West Kirby are invited to hear Cardinal Michael Fitzgerald speak on Ecumenical & Interreligious Relations at St. Agnes’ Church, Darmonds Green on Saturday, 23rd November 10 a.m. for a 10.30 a.m. start finishing around 12 noon.  Everyone is very welcome.  There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.  See poster on the noticeboard in the foyer giving further information about the speaker.

BREAD & SCONE MAKING

There will be bread & scone making in the Hilda Shore Room on Saturday, 23rd November 10-12.15 p.m.  Cost for the bread & scone making is £2 per family and we provide the ingredients plus fun and laughter.  From around 11 a.m. we have an open invite to anyone who wants a free coffee, chat and pizza slices.

CHRISTMAS GIFT SERVICE 2019

Our Gift Service for young people leaving Care takes place on  Sunday, 24th November. We ask that the gifts are new and if you are struggling to think of idea – here are just a few:

Toiletry gift sets, bath & shower gel, hair care products, socks, bobble hats, scarves, gloves, chocolates, sweets and gift vouchers.

Please – no CDs or tights. Leave the gifts unwrapped but wrapping paper would be much appreciated. Thank you in anticipation of your generosity.

THANK YOU TO REV VIV GASTEEN

To show our thanks and gratitude for all that Viv has done within our Group and especially at West KIrby, there is to be a Group 4 thank you get together on Monday, 25th November at 2.30 p.m. at Greasby Methodist.   Tea and cakes will be served and it is hoped there will be a good turn out from our church.

MWIB COFFEE MORNING

All money raised at the coffee morning on Friday, 29th November will be for MWiB.  In addition to coffee and mince pies there will be a cake and produce table plus charity Christmas cards and craft items.  Please make every effort to come and support this event.

TRAIDCRAFT

There will be a Traidcraft stall at the MWiB coffee morning on Friday, 29th November selling biscuits, sweets, chocolate, tea, coffee and greeting cards plus some small gift items.  These items will also be on sale on Sunday, 1st December.

VISIT OF PRESIDENT OF CONFERENCE

Rev Dr Barbara Glasson will be speaking at a District Celebration on Saturday, 30th November at Trinity Ellesmere Port, CH65 0AE beginning at 3.30 p.m. with an address and stories followed by refreshments at 5 p.m.  There will then be a celebration service at 6 p.m.  Please see poster on the noticeboard in the foyer giving more details.

ECO FESTIVE FAIR AT ST. LUKE’S

St. Luke’s, Hoylake are holding an Eco Festive Fair on Saturday, 30th November from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.  There will be Eco gifts for Christmas, craft stalls, refreshments.  All welcome.

CARERS SOUP ‘N’ SUPPORT

Please note that the Christmas Party is on Thursday, 5th December starting at 11 a.m.  Even if you haven’t been able to come for some time we would love to see you.  Good company, good food and amazing entertainment. Plus, thanks to a generous grant from the Chrimes Foundation, everyone will get a present.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

This year’s concert – A Christmas Medley – takes place on Saturday, 7th December, starting at 7.30 p.m.  Included in the programme are The Deeside Singers, Storytellers and our own Chimebell Group. There is, of course, a chance to sing a few carols and enjoy some Christmas refreshments!

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £1 for under 18s (available from Graham Gladden).  There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.  Proceeds will go to local charities and the church.  Please support this and bring your friends.
