CHURCH FAMILY

Doris Carr sadly passed away on Thursday, 9th May.  There will be a committal at Landican for family only on Friday, 31st May at 11.30 a.m. followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for Doris's life here at church at 12.30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served in the Church Hall  after the Service of Thanksgiving

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK

Christian Aid Week begins today.  Envelopes are now available.  In addition the proceeds from the Coffee Morning on Friday, 17th May will be for Christian Aid.  There will be a cake stall so all donations will be gratefully received.

CIRCUIT EASTER OFFERING SERVICE

A service to dedicate the Easter Offering will be held this evening at 6.30 p.m. at Moreton Methodist Church.  As this is a Circuit Service there will be no evening service here.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

THE BEACON

Pick up your copy of the latest edition of The Beacon from the foyer and take one for anyone who may be interested.  Would Pastoral Visitors please pick up copies for anyone on their list who is not able to get to church.

CIRCUIT PRAYER DIARY

Copies of the Prayer Diary for May are now available.  Please pick up a copy from the foyer.

CIRCUIT PLAN

Copies of the next Circuit Plan for the three months beginning 2nd June are now available in the foyer.

MEN’S COFFEE MORNING

The last coffee morning before the summer break is on Monday, 13th May from 10.30 a.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  All welcome.

The next meeting is on Monday, 13th May at 7.30 p.m. in the Hilda Shore Room.  This will be a games evening so if anyone has a suitable game please bring it along.

THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY GROUP

The next meeting is on the 16th May 10 a.m. for 10.15 a.m.  The Group will be studying Philippians 4:1-9 – Joy firm yet gentle/Joyful thinking.

SERVICE AT THE DALES

Our regular half hour service is on Friday, 17th May at 2 p.m.  This is a little later in the month than usual, but gives us an opportunity to focus on Christian Aid Week.

SINGING CAFÉ

The next Singing Café at St. Luke’s, Hoylake is from 10.30 a.m. on Thursday, 23rd May.  All welcome.

BREAD MAKING

The next session is on Saturday, 25th May from 10 a.m. until 12.15 p.m.  Please join us for bread making or at 11.15 a.m. for coffee, biscuits and pizza.  Last month a number of families from Bacon Butty came, so please support this fun and important small initiative.  For more information phone Dirk on 07847 739 533.

SONGS OF PRAISE

The morning service on 16th June will be a Songs of Praise Service.  Have you a favourite hymn plus a story to go with it?  If so, we’d love to receive your contribution to this service.  If you are happy to tell the story yourself that will be great, but don’t be put off – if you would rather not, then someone will read your contribution for you.  Please let Catherine Jackson or Graham Gladden know by 2nd June so they will have time to plan the service.

SUPPORT FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS

A church based group to support asylum seekers and refugees is starting at the Link Emmanuel in Birkenhead.  It is an informal setting to help those in need of English speaking experiences and will be held on Thursdays between 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.  If you are interested in knowing more please contact Howie Aziz at Howie.aziz@hotmail.co.uk
