Weekly Notices 10th February 2019

FLOWERS

The flowers today are kindly given by John & Carole Steel in celebration of their Wedding Anniversary.

NEW MINISTER

Following the visit to our church of a prospective minister to replace Kim, we have been informed by the Circuit Invitations Committee that Rev Yangsun Yi has accepted their invitation to join the Circuit from September 2019.  Yangsun is excited about joining us.  She will have oversight of West Kirby, Greasby and Irby.  This appointment is, as always, subject to ratification by the Methodist Conference.

BIBLE SOCIETY

The Bible Society collection last Sunday raised the grand sum of £237.  If you missed the opportunity to donate on the 3rd February it is not too late to make a contribution.

If any member of the congregation would like to sign up to the “£5 Bible a Month Scheme” I can let them have the necessary form, or as Hannah suggested, maybe a few members could club together to contribute to the scheme; again I can make the necessary arrangements.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

This is the theme of this evening’s service.  Dirk’s band, Borderline, will be playing Beatles songs as well as choruses and hymns.  Each song has a story attached to it with contributions from several church members, grandparents and members of the band.  Coffee and cake from 6.15 p.m. – so come along and bring a friend.

MOVING HOUSE

David & Elizabeth Delasalle will shortly be moving to Maidenhead - they will be greatly missed. They invite the congregation to join them to share coffee and cake in the church hall after this morning’s service which will be their last Sunday in church before moving.
